Our fifth graders had a memorable day exploring Native American culture. Special thanks to Brenda, Shoshana, Emily, and Shandiin, who shared their expertise through weaving activities and the fry bread story through tasting and singing. Students also got to join in round dancing and watch cultural hoop dancing.
This experience helped students understand the importance of viewing history through different perspectives—not just our own. By appreciating diverse cultures, we gain a deeper, more complete understanding of the world and its history. Engagement and excitement were high—what an inspiring experience!
Thank you to all the many mother volunteers who came to help make our day possible.
